I grew up in the Northern Kentucky/ Cincinnati area and Cracker Barrel always reminds me of home. Not only is it a "Country" restaurant and store, but they are everywhere up there. Cracker Barrel does not have great food, but it is good southern food that reminds you of something a family member would make. My Dad has always loved Cracker Barrel and now my Husband loves it too, so we eat here often. We normally end up eating here for breakfast. You get a HUGE quantity of food that is pretty much impossible to finish for a very cheap price. Our favorite thing to order includes Country Fried Steak/Chicken (I get the chicken ...Hubby gets the steak), biscuits, gravy, grits, hashbrown casserole and eggs. TIP: ask for ANY condiments to accompany this meal and they will get it for you if they have it (sugar free syrup, honey, blackberry jam, hot sauce, apple butter, etc.) Cracker Barrel also has great service. With huge dining rooms and food that appears quickly, it is a very fast and pleasant dining experience. I also love their Country Store. I spend more time browsing then buying, but you always find neat quirky things. I look in the store all the time and still manage to find something new on every visit that I haven't seen in 20 years. I also REALLY love their apple butter. Apple butter is something that I grew up with and you can not find good apple butter in the grocery stores here, so I buy it at Cracker Barrel. Cracker Barrel is definitely a Kitschy restaurant that is not for everyone. From the rocking chairs to the old fashioned candy to the 100 year old drug bottles and creepy old paintings..I personally adore it. Check them out if you have not visited before.

Service was good, food was cooked well and tasted fine. I had a pork chop with turnip greens & a sweet potato. Why two stars? The menu should've said it was a baby pork chop. It made the sweet potato look like a huge GMO Award winning freak crop. Very misleading calling it a pork chop, and I left hungry. I will now count this as strike 1 of 3. I took a photo of it, look at it to scale of a truly normal sized sweet potato

Carrie S was an amazing server! Even though it was breakfast she was able to get burgers for my husband and I for our Thanksgiving eve hangovers! Give that girl a raise! Service tends to be hit or miss here and she was definitely a hit. Burgers were also surprisingly outstanding!

I am an avid Cracker Barrel fan since 1990 and I've eaten at their restaurants all over the country, so I was very disappointed with my experience at my local one this morning. The quality here has really seemed to diminish. I always order the Uncle Hershel's Breakfast, but this will be my last trip to this particular location. My entire breakfast wasn't even close to hot, or warm. The biscuits were hard and stale. My girlfriend and I both felt like the Hashbrown Casserole was old, as the outside was crusty (not brown and crispy) and it seemed to have been nuked leftovers. My grits were less than warm (mortal sin) and the gravy for the biscuits didn't even come close to filling a monkey dish. What happened? They used to bring a whole cup of gravy. Also, the serving of catfish was about half the size of what it used to be. Not happy, but still left a 25% tip as our waitress was very friendly and matronly.

I'm not usually a fan of chains, however, you can't get better catfish anywhere. I have looked high and low and there is no one who makes it better. That is the reason for the 4 stars alone. If you don't like catfish then skip this review. Lol what we love besides the catfish? The sweet tea, hush puppies, hash brown casserole and the cola cake is to DIE for. What I don't like? You can't get scrambled eggs here...just the weird folded mcdonalds egg. I special ordered it to be scrambled once and they literally chopped up the folded egg. Lol grits are watery as well. But who cares about eggs and grits when you have the best catfish in your mouth. Lol

Biscuits n' gravy. That is all. Seriously, what else can be said about Cracker Barrel. Southern comfort food, attentive waitstaff and managers who always "do the right thing".

Best grilled reuben platter in town. I really love the staff here also. Great managers, friendly wait staff and yummy food. I pick my favorite restaurants according to what I'm in the mood to eat. So when I'm craving a good reuben this is my go to for sure.

Friendly staff and clean restaurant. They are really busy on the weekends. They have breakfast-dinner . Not much parking though . There are the old style rocking chairs outside on the porch that u can sit in and wait for your name to be called if there is a wait or you can sit there after you eat. On the porch they also have checkers so people sitting in the chairs can play checkers if they want. When you walk in there is a small store with little knick-knacks in it. Then you have the restaurant. Sometimes they are quick with your food.

I don't know why I never think to review this place when I love to eat here! Whenever I want a good breakfast, Cracker Barrel never fails. I like this location better than the other one on ulmerton/roosevelt too. Let me just list my favorite things: 1.One of my favorite desserts in the whole world is probably their Apple Dumpling. It is HUGE with crust, hot apples, pecans, caramel and 2 scoops of ice cream on top. I usually eat it all by myself when really it should be shared, If you haven't tried it...order it next time you go. Plus its like only $3. 2. Their biscuits with strawberry preserves. We usually tell them just to bring a couple baskets because we kill those biscuits. 3. The pancakes and Turkey sausage. Mommas Pancakes are big and fluffy and their turkey sausage is really good. 4. If you want dinner go for the White Fish, Grilled Tenders or Burger. The only thing I don't like is some of their side fixins. The greens tastes weird and everything tastes canned. I usually get fries, slaw, salad or potato.

We hadn't been to a Cracker Barrel in years and were craving a good breakfast. This place sure gets your food out fast! I had one of their lighter options (390 calories) which came with egg beaters, turkey bacon, fruit, tomato slices and cheese grits. It was satisfying and delish! The bf doesn't have to count calories, as he devoured the biscuits and gravy in no time. And yes, I had a bite of the biscuits- just like grandmas!

I look for Cracker Barrels whenever I travel and want a good breakfast. Or in this case when I'm home and want a good breakfast. They're consistently good and this one is no exception. The food is good and the service was fast and friendly. I usually get the country boy breakfast I order the eggs over easy and they actually come out over easy. The medium rare steak is nicely seasoned and is actually medium rare. I'm not sure if they still do it or not but they used to have a fried chicken special on Sundays that was totally worth the trip. I'm not crazy about their grits but I'm picky about my grits so I can cut them some slack. If you'e coming through on 275 this one is remarkably easy to get in and out of (unlike some).

Best place for breakfast in the area! A little pricey but you get tons of food! The country boy breakfast comes with unlimited hashbrown caserole which is the best thing on the menu! (although the menu doesnt say it)

This is one of the worst Cracker Barrels you will go to but its the only one i know of in the area so its this or nothing. Eggs were served ice cold and plasticy. Service was slow. And after complaining about inedible food they still did not offer to take it off the bill. Finally at the cashiers i told them i did not eat the cold hard overcooked fried eggs that sat too long at the heat window and asked that they be taken off the bill, which they did. Ive been there half a dozen times or more and it just keeps getting worse.

Vegetarians: don't bother. The staff doesn't know what has meat and what doesn't. The answer is 99% of the items do, including veggie dishes (like green beans..) Ended up eating biscuits, mashed potatoes, corn and "fried" apples (apple pie filling...) Waiter initially brought out dumplings. Mentioned that he wasn't sure if there was meat in them...(thick white gravy on them) when he was bringing the check he said there was chicken broth, which we figured and hadn't eaten them. Extremely fast service and a carnivore's dream!

We had driven all the way to St Pete in a rental to pick up a car that we bought on EBAY, so after returning the rental and closing the deal we were set on heading back home to Miami. But hours of open road, and the prospect of driving with the top down all the way back just made us crave some serious food. Huge cravings, lunch time, and a hunger attack while cruising in front of Cracker Barrel is simply a lethal combination against any kind of self discipline, so we surrendered. Abundance of food, I had the Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes, because I hadn't have meatloaf since college, all I can say is, without worrying about calories, it is fantastic !!! Good service, they need to turn those tables, so you can rest assured that you will be check up on frequently... in a good way. This is a once in a while indulgence, but it is totally worth it.

Authentic southern Grandmommy style food. Love the turnip greens, fried okra, and the real cornbread (not sweet) !! The buttermilk biscuits are legit too

I came here with my reserve unit for this past weekend for lunch. It was my first time eating lunch at a Cracker Barrel. The first day I had the bacon cheeseburger and it was great, I was surprised how big it was and it was delicious one of the best burgers I have ever had. The second day I got the Chicken and Dumplings platter and it also was delicious, it came with three vegetable sides I got corn, mash potatoes with gravy and green beans. It was more than enough to fill me up I had a little left over. The service was great like it usually is. I cant say Ill be back because I dont know if i will be in that area again but if I am I would go there for a meal.

Didn't sit down to eat just went into the store part to show a friend and ended up buying more than I should have of novelty stuff. The cashier & the employee on the floor really went out of their way to help me. If the rest of the staff are this awesome then maybe I would consider giving this place a chance. Really bad experience in the Bradenton Cracker Barrel. Maybe my next review will include food! HA HA

As you walked into the store, it has rocking chairs out the front for sale. The store reminds me when i was a kid seeing all kinds of old fashion candies in Disneyland. There is a restaurant located at the back and their breakfast is amazing. I got their granola pancakes and it was so delicious. The service is excellent.

If you're pretty hungry and are craving some Southern cookin', then Cracker Barrel's probably your best bet in this area. The Chicken 'N Dumplings and Chicken Fried Chicken dishes are my favorite here. You get generous portions with either 2 or 3 veggie sides. You can choose from corn, mac 'n cheese, sweet potato casserole, turnip greens, mashed potatoes and gravy, etc. Oh yeah, and if that's not enough carbs for you, every meal comes with either biscuits or corn bread. The service here is pretty good as the waiter comes to check if you need anything quite regularly. Expect to spend $10-12 a person (excluding drinks). I can't wait to try their breakfast items next time I'm there!

I'll never go back. Never refilled coffee, pancakes tasted like grease and my wife's omlet was all wrong. On the good side is the 1 cup of coffee I did get tasted great and they make good bacon. We have ate at other C. Barrels but this one is by far the worst!

Okay! Went back today (one week later), unexpectedly ended up with the same server and...Cracker Barrel had already corrected the "you guys" problem...she didn't call us that even once! Cheers for excellent CUSTOMER service by this company!

Needed a hurried breakfast, but i still made the effort to go 20 minutes out of my way to come here. Totally worth it! Excellent customer service, got seated immediately and my waitress was very nice. Definitely a must if you want the best way to start off your day!

Love love love Cracker Barrel! I'm basically a fan of any place that serves delicious breakfast all day long. Ever since the first time I was brought here I find myself craving their biscuits and gravy, fried apples, apple cider in a frosty mug, and the absolute best: cheesy hash brown casserole. Seriously, if you go, you have to get the cheesy hash brown casserole. My sister on her first time there settled for just the grits and it was a mistake for both of us, because she landed up eating most of mine instead. They have great breakfast combos and we've always had great service. They also all have a fun old-fashioned country store on the way in that's fun to look through. And neat comfy rocking chairs scattered around outside that you can sit while you're waiting. So if you like breakfast, I suggest you check it out.

We went here late night and I was not impressed with the food. The decor was nice. I ordered the country fried steak with dumplings, mashed potatoes and fried okra. The country fried steak was over cooked and had a distinct bad flavor like it was freezer burnt. I had them make another steak and this one was cooked correctly but still had the bad taste. Our server didn't come back until I asked the hostess to get him for us. If your going to take the time to open a restaurant, take the time to make good food.

Let me provide as many adjectives to share my experiences: 1) yummy food 2) various options for meat and non-meat areas 3) accommodating to large group (unexpectedly) 4) accepts American Express credit cards (and other credit cards plus cash) 5) unlimited tea, coffee, and non-alcoholic beverages when you order a beverage 6) yummy old school candy in the shop 7) plenty of seating options if there's a wait 8) several old school (non computerized) games 9) pleasant wait staff (at least during the early morning hours, weekdays) 10) fairly fast service (at least during the early morning, weekdays)

When ranking this CB against the others, I like this one. It's never busy, it's easy on/off the interstate and the employees are friendly. I usually get takeout breakfast for a customer once every couple of months and they have never messed up my order or forgotten any of the necessary condiments.

We came here late after a day on the beach and we left happy. We were searching and searching for a place to have dinner after sunset. Our server, cinnamon, was fantastic. She was there for 12 hours already and she was still friendly and personable. The terrible CB in NC off I95 better take note. They were terrible there. She started off by telling us what they ran out of (and not 30 min after we ordered like the NC branch). We had a mix of breakfast folks whose dishes were consistent to that of a CB breakfast. We also tried their new chicken bake and beef bakes which were the meats baked with carrots, corn on the cob, onion, and red potatoes wrapped in tin foil and baked to tenderness. There was a nice juice on the bottom but it wasn't drowning in sauce. All in all a great late night meal last night for a starving dreary group!

This place is just mediocre. Met a group here on a Saturday morning as 2 were driving back to North Carolina. I suppose they might be used to this kind of food, not me. Most In the group ordered huge breakfasts consisting of eggs, pancakes, grits, meat product and bisquits. I ordered a scrambled egg and bisquits. They of course completely forgot my order. They also forgot misc. guests breads, others drinks, others gravy, it was a disaster. Getting the check was the worst part. It took longer then it did to eat breakfast with 9 people there. I'll pass on any future visits here.

I like Cracker Barrel. This particular one was PACKED on the day we went. We went on a saturday morning. The service was quick though - but not attentive. The food is what you would find in any other cracker barrels near by - good pancakes and grits. I love visiting Florida (or south in general) for their grits! Yum.

I love coming here on Sunday and getting the Home style Chicken special. It comes with two chicken breasts hand battered with your choice of bread and two sides. It's really good. The service here is always good, really friendly and great at refilling drinks. I love the hush puppies. I need to try more of the food though. I do like the eggs in the basket also, another one of my favorites. :)

The decor is as expected of a country store - appropriately kitchy ecclectic and old fashioned. The menu at Cracker Barrel hasn't changed much over the years, they still serve Breakfast all day, hearty southern soul food selections, and old fashioned bottled drinks (Root Beer and Glass bottle Coca-Cola). Why just A-ok rating? I feel like it is so standardized, that each location doesn't really have any "wow" factor to it that would make me go there over another store. That being said, the food is almost always great.

Got seated quickly on a Sunday morning. Good food, good service. Sarah was our waitress and she took great care of us.

Very good breakfast, although if you go there on a busy weekend morning, be prepared to wait for a table. And you also run the risk of your food being lukewarm when it comes out. But I highly recommend the pancakes, eggs and bacon!

I think I can safely say there are no surprises at Cracker Barrels. The food is always amazing. The service is always quick and efficient. And the prices are affordable. This particular spot lives up to the brand's reputation.

Staff was very friendly. Service was quick. They refill your drinks without asking. The food came out hot and fresh. The portions are perfect. Cracker Barrel biscuits are super tasty. Can never go wrong here.

  • Casey H.

The staff here are nice and friendly. My only complaint was that they need to learn how to deal with problems. We had some food that was a little burned that my youngest child would eat. I ordered something else and they charged me for it. I also wasn't pleased when it took my food 10 minutes longer to come out than the rest of the table. I would have expected something in return from the manager when checking out. Lastly - Parking is somewhat a challenge at this location. Somewhat disappointed.
